Manchester Community Library 10th Anniversary Family Fun Day

MCL 10th Anniversary Family Fun Day

Every 10 year old loves a good birthday party and MCL is no different.  Join us for a day of celebrating our 10th year in our Cemetery Ave location. Help us reenact our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, decorate a birthday cupcake, join Vermont Macrame in making knotty art, and get your build skills going with dinosaur challenges. Best of all, come see Dinoman in action – with magic, merry mayhem, and magnificent props.

  • 10 am – Ribbon Cutting in the Cafe

  • 11 am – Dinoman in the Hunter Community Room

  • 12 pm – Cupcake decorating in the Craft Room

  • 1 pm – Vermont Macrame in the Loft

  • 1 pm – LEGO Dinosaur Build Challenge in the Children’s Library

Junior’s Food Truck will also be on-site all day!

Peru Fair

The Peru Fair will be celebrating its 41st Fair on Saturday, September 28, 2024

“What is the Peru Fair?”, people ask. Those who know stop, smile and explain, “one of the nicest country fairs you will ever know.” 

The Peru Fair began in 1978 as the “end of the world tag sale.” but what had evolved is not what a tag-saler would ever dream of.  Each year approximately 100 exhibitors converge on the tiny village of Peru, Vermont located off Route 11 to display and sell their arts, but most of all to be discovered by craft seekers of all types. 

Early morning of the fair, booths, displays, and crafts are set up, smells of food begin to stretch across and before too long, the parade of whimsical characters officially opens the Fair, and music and entertainment fill the air. 

Proceeds of the Fair are donated to the Peru Scholarship Fund. The Peru Scholarship Fund is an organization that distributes educational scholarships to the children of Peru for higher education. 

Highlights of the Fair include a pig roast, art demonstrations, church exhibits of yesteryear, artisan crafts, music, dancing, and foods of all tastes.

My macrame journey began with making a macrame plant hanger and it transformed my home and life in the process. Join me in this class suited for those with all levels of experience in macrame.

In this macrame workshop we will create a macrame plant hanger together at  Kaleidoscope Art Supply - Rutland, VT.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions in real time, and leave the class with a finished macrame plant hanger. Just add your favorite potted plant!

All materials are included. Choose your favorite color!

The perfect craft for those with all levels of macrame experience. Please allow about 2 hours for this workshop.
